Information Regarding Online Dispute Resolution
Pursuant to Art. 14 Para. 1 of the ODR

To resolve consumer problems online fairly and effectively, without going to court

If you have problems with products or services purchased online, you can use the platform made available by the European Commission to submit a complaint and find a solution from an independent dispute resolution body.

Consumer protection legislation in the EU ensures that everyone has the right to be treated fairly when buying goods and services online or offline.

European legislation ensures consumers:

  • a fair treatment
  • products that meet acceptable standards
  • the right to appeal in case of problems

Before making a complaint to a trader, it may be helpful to learn more about your rights, so that you know which rights and remedies apply to your situation.

Many organisations across the EU can provide useful information about consumer rights. If you have a problem buying products or services from a trader based in another EU country, you can contact your local European Consumer Centre (ECC) free of charge.

European Consumer Centres can

  • provide advice on your consumer rights
  • help you resolve a dispute with a trader based in another EU country, Iceland or Norway, without going to court
  • advise you to turn to another interlocutor, if they cannot help you
